DISCOBAC
Design, Interaction and Synthesis of Bioactive Compounds
Facilities
Our team belongs to the Chemistry Research Institute Andrés M. del Río (IQAR) and Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Castilla-La Mancha (IDISCAM), based in the University of Alcalá (UAH), Spain.
We have access to all UAH general scientific infrastructures. In addition, the team shares a Brucker Avance II 400 NMR, two dry boxes (MBRAUN 150B-G, MBRAUN Unilab), and an MBRAUN solvent drying system.
Interactions between metal conjugates and nucleic acids are investigated on an automatic viscosimeter (AVS 470 model) and a VA-CT52 thermostatic-bath equipped with a cooling probe VA-CK300.
The experiments on denaturation of G-quadruplex nucleic acids by FRET are performed in the Molecular Biology unit through specifically designed protocols and an RT-PCR instrument. The antitumor properties of the synthesized compounds are analyzed at the Cell Culture Facility.
